The SCTEX is a 94-kilometer modern toll road in Central Luzon, connecting the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Clark Freeport Zone, and Central Technopark. It has reduced travel time between Clark and Subic to 40 minutes and Clark to Tarlac to 25 minutes. This road supports the region’s economic development by linking key facilities like the Subic Seaport and Clark International Airport, improving trade efficiency and creating investment opportunities. Additionally, it paved the way for the construction of the 88-kilometer Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), completing a seamless road network from Manila to the northern part of the country.
